About Chris

On the Council, Chris is a representative who works with the community to make Shoreline a better place to live and work. Chris is willing to meet with anyone to strengthen the community to make Shoreline more accessible, more inclusive, and more livable.

 

Chris was selected by his colleagues on the Council to serve as Mayor in 2016. He currently has a seat at the table on the Puget Sound Regional Council Executive Board and the Association of Washington Cities Legislative Committee. Chris serves as the City’s representative to the Sound Cities Association

 

Before running for public office, Chris served as the Legislative Assistant for Oregon State Representative Bill Garrard and taught classes at the University of Washington in the Department of Political Science and the Evans School of Public Affairs. He earned his undergraduate degree from Willamette University in 2000 and completed his Ph.D in political science from the University of Washington in 2012. 

 

Chris is an enrolled member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and is a member of the National Writers Union. He regularly writes a column for Shoreline Area News.

 

With his wife Heather, and their son, Clark, Chris resides in the Meridian Park neighborhood in Shoreline.
